Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a very common skin condition that affects an estimated 30 percent of the US population, almost 100 million people.  And it affects almost 20% of children.

It causes dry, itchy and inflamed skin. It’s common in young children but can occur at any age. Atopic dermatitis is long lasting (chronic) and tends to flare sometimes. It can be irritating but it’s not contagious.

  • More common in females than males
  • It affects 1 in 5 children
  • More than 50% of patients are frustrated by the disease and lack of effective treatment
  • It interferes with 2/3 of patients' daily living activities
  • 50% of kids with AD develop asthma
  • More than 30% of patients report sleep disturbances from AD

An effective treatment for the most common Atopic Dermatitis conditions is greatly needed.  Irvine Labs has developed a therapeutic for Atopic Dermatitis that has shown if field studies to be safe, effective and fast acting.  Irvine Labs is proceeding with Phase II studies.
